Opal the Dog: Her Search for a Forever Family

Opal, a two-year-old Bulldog, went through a journey full of challenges and sacrifices before finding shelter and hopefully a forever home. This is not just the story of an abandoned dog, but also a journey of strength, compassion and the ability to overcome limitations.

Opal begins her new life at the pulp mill, where fear and insecurity are a constant. But luck smiled on her when she was rescued from that place and taken to a temporary shelter. However, the big challenge is not only to escape the stressful environment, but also to face the health disability – Spinпa Bifida.

Spinпa Bifida is a difficult disease, posing major challenges for Opal. Volunteer Audrey Bergen of California Bully Rescue (CBR) shares about the problems Opal faces, from covered stools to urinary tract infections and many other health problems. However, Opal’s strength and optimism were evident as she continued to fight and recover.

CBR played an important role in caring for Opal and finding a family. With careful planning and enthusiasm, Opal and her sister Sadie were welcomed on 12/12/22. This marks the end of an adventure and the opening of a new chapter full of hope and happiness.

Opal is not just a dog, but also a symbol of kindness and the spirit of overcoming. She, despite her physical disabilities, maintains optimism and happiness. Even though she is small, active, and full of love, Opal still faces opposition from would-be adopters.

However, with her compassionate personality and friendliness towards all living things, Opal is the ideal companion for any loving family. Audrey Bergen describes Opal as “calm, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, child-friendly and absolutely loves to cuddle”.

Opal’s life is not only a personal story, but also a testament to the transformative power of care and compassion. Each adopter is not only Opal’s new family but also an opportunity to bring love and happiness into their own lives. CBR has played a vital role in connecting adopters with dogs like Opal, especially those with disabilities, opening the door to journeys full of meaning and joy.
