Aluminum wedge of aiud – Alien artifact or just unsolved mystery?

A group of workers accidentally stumbled upon a heap of fossilized bones in the summer of 1973.

A specialist came and he concluded that two of them were, in fact, fossilized mastodon bones.

He also found an object that looked like an ax and that was probably used in the past to hunt the mastodons.

This out of place artifact is known as the Aiud Artifact. It measures 8 x 5 x 3 inches and weighs 5 pounds.

Its shape was an indicator that the Aiud Artifact was once part of a bigger assembly.

According to analysis carried out at two institutes, the wedge was made from an alloy consisting of 80% aluminum and 11 other two elements.

As we all know, aluminum does not corrode easily, however, the oxide was as thick as 3 millimeters.

The conclusion drawn by experts was that this object preceded the discovery of aluminum. They estimated that the object was at least 250.000 years old.

Nobody knows how a 250.000 years old piece of aluminum should look like, however, the Aluminum Wedge fits rather well with our estimations.

The Aluminum Wedge is yet to be explained by science and each day we have more and more questions in relation to it.
