Dodgers’ Kyle Tucker, Wife Samantha Welcome Baby Boy
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker and his wife, Samantha, have welcomed a baby boy, the newly signed slugger revealed Sunday.
Tucker had taken a personal leave from the team earlier this month to be with his wife, and speaking with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA, he said he was happy to be present for the birth of his first child.
“It’s awesome. It was really fun and exciting to be there and to experience that with both our families and everyone there,” he said. “We have a good support group back home, taking care of everyone. It’s been a lot of fun. I was only home for a few days, but glad I got some time with them.”
Is Baby Tucker a Future MLB Star?
Tucker’s brother, Preston Tucker, is himself a Major League Baseball player, appearing for the Houston Astros, Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves.
Given the family connection, Watson asked Tucker if his new son had a future in baseball as well.
“A lot of potential, but we’ve got to see what we’ve got,” Tucker said. “As long as he’s healthy and growing right now, that’s all I can ask for. We’ll get to the baseball in a few years.”

Tucker Is Far From the Only Dodger With a Young Child
Alongside Tucker, numerous other Dodgers have recently had children or are expecting them soon.
Max Muncy and Kike Hernandez recently had children, as did former Dodger Clayton Kershaw.
First baseman Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea Freeman, are also expecting a child, which will be their fourth.
Shortstop Mookie Betts is also expecting a child, potentially this month.
Given the number of new dads and players with young children, Tucker noted that it’s created a unique environment at the team’s facilities, but it’s one that he and his fellow Dodgers are embracing.
“We’ve got a lot of little ones running around the clubhouse and everyone right now. It’s fun to see and share this experience with everyone, and have them come out to BP and the clubhouse and everything, it’s really cool to see all of that. It’s a lot of fun.”
Congrats to the Tuckers and all the other Dodger dads and moms out there!
