Report: Eagles to sign ‘Hollywood’ Brown to a 1-year deal
Jordan Schultz reports the Eagles are signing WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million. A former Ravens first-round pick, Brown caught 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns last season and still separates from coverage.
Philadelphia has a dynamic duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith currently constructed, but Brown could depart the Eagles via a trade at any point after June 1, when his dead salary cap hit would decrease drastically. Since signing the extension, Smith logged 68 catches for 833 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2024 Super Bowl season and 77 catches for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. Since that time, overall, Smith has 145 catches, for 1,841 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The 1,841 yards is 21st in the NFL since that time, and his 145 catches are tied with teammate A.J. Brown for 17th. Brown’s 2,082 yards are 14th since that time.
The depth behind the two superstars is the reason this signing happened. Johnny Wilson looked like a player who could unseat Jahan Dotson during last summer’s training camp before suffering a torn ACL. He’ll return, while second-year wide receiver Darius Cooper is a player with huge upside.

Howie Roseman on A.J. Brown trade talk: A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles
An Eagles’ trade of wide receiver A.J. Brown has felt “inevitable” since March. The question seems more of when, not if, with a post-June 1 trade a possibility.
Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman revealed nothing on Sunday.
“I understand that there’s interest in the A.J. Brown story,” Roseman said, via Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philly. “Unfortunately, I don’t have a home under a rock. But my answer to any question on A.J. Brown is that A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles. From my perspective, anything you ask me about A.J. Brown, I’m going to go right back to that answer. But I understand the interest. I put on TV and I see that there’s interest. But my answer is A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.”
Roseman proceeded to answer multiple questions about Brown with the same answer: “A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles,” according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of WIP94.com.
The Eagles signed veteran wide receiver Hollywood Brown to a one-year, $5 million deal in March. He would join DeVonta Smith as the team’s top two wide receivers if Brown departs.
The Eagles also signed free agent wideout Elijah Moore.
The Patriots have been the favorite to eventually land Brown, who has not made the Pro Bowl in either of the past two seasons. He had 1,079 receiving yards in 2024 and 1,003 receiving yards in 2025.
