Spanish media rate Rodri higher than every central midfielder at Real Madrid
Los Blancos have long been admirers of the Spaniard.
It follows Rodri’s recent comments about Real Madrid, where he said he couldn’t turn down Madrid if they come for him.
“The fact that I played for Atlético does not stop me from playing for Real Madrid”, Rodri told Onda Cero.
“You cannot refuse the best clubs in the world,” Rodri said.
“Also, playing at the Bernabéu is incredible. It’s a very intimidating place,” Rodri says.
Rodri has played down those comments, but Spanish media have been awash about the possibility of the midfielder playing for Real Madrid.
Rodri better than ALL Madrid midfielders
That’s according to Spanish media, notably journalists with Marca.
Ferran Martinez said, “I don’t see a midfielder of this profile at Real Madrid, the kind they’ve been demanding for seasons. It makes me wonder if they can reach the level I know, but the Rodri we’ve seen this season would already be a valuable addition to a team like Real Madrid.
“I don’t know if he’s ready to be a starter for the national team, but he definitely needs to be a key player to go to the World Cup,” the journalist says.
Pepe Pasqués added that, “Real Madrid isn’t City, but if Rodri were to arrive in Real Madrid’s midfield, nobody would question his place.”
