49ers Reunite With Former Raiders RB Ahead of 2026 Season — Depth Move Adds Competition

The San Francisco 49ers continue to fine-tune their roster ahead of the 2026 season, adding another piece to an already crowded running back unit.
As offseason moves unfold, the team is prioritizing depth and familiarity, especially at key positions where competition remains fierce entering training camp.
According to his agency, the 49ers have signed running back Sincere McCormick, a former Las Vegas Raiders contributor with prior experience in San Francisco.
McCormick previously spent time on the 49ers’ practice squad in 2025 before being released midway through the season.
“Every opportunity is a chance to prove I belong. I’m ready to earn it again,” McCormick shared following the announcement.
The 25-year-old running back joins a group headlined by Christian McCaffrey, alongside young options like Jordan James, Isaac Guerendo, and rookie Kaelon Black.
Standing at 5-foot-9 and 204 pounds, McCormick brings a compact, physical running style and familiarity with multiple systems across the league.
During the 2024 season with the Raiders, he appeared in five games with two starts, totaling 212 scrimmage yards on 45 touches.
Although he did not record a snap in 2025, his experience across several practice squads kept him in the league’s developmental pipeline.
With limited roster spots available, McCormick faces an uphill battle to crack the final 53-man roster but remains a strong candidate for depth or practice squad roles.
