Donald Trump randomly makes his feelings clear on Tom Brady in a sudden post on his Truth Social platform, proclaiming that the seven-time Super Bowl champion is the greatest of all time
Donald Trump took an odd moment to praise Tom Brady on his Truth Social platform.
Trump and Brady have had a long-standing relationship, one that spans decades, as the 79-year-old has made it clear how fond of sports he is. At one point, the president attempted to buy his own football team, showing just how much he enjoyed the sport.
On Saturday, the president made it clear that he viewed Brady on a different plane compared to his peers. It comes after it was revealed that Trump belittled Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, by comparing him to Brady at one point.
On his Truth Social account, Trump posted an image of himself talking with Brady, who is donning his Patriots helmet and uniform. At the top of the image, the word “GOAT” – short for Greatest Of All Time – implies that Trump believes the former quarterback is the best football player.
The accompanying caption simply read: “Tom Brady is a great player, and great guy!President DJT.” Trump’s comment is just the latest in the two men’s relationship, one that has seemingly dissolved over the years.
With a friendship dating back to 2002, Brady and Trump have known each other for decades, with the former even having a “Make America Great Again” cap in his locker in 2015, after Trump announced his candidacy for President of the United States. Brady was then forced to clarify his relationship with Trump after the moment.

“He sent it to me via R.K.K.,” Brady told Boston’s WEEI, referring to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. “He always gives me a call and different types of motivational speeches at different times.
“So now that he’s running for president, he sent me a hat, and he gave it to R.K.K. a couple weeks ago. So it found its way to my locker.” At the time, Brady did not disclose whether he voted for Trump, but praised the fact that the businessman-turned-politician was running for president.
“I mean it’s pretty amazing what he’s been able to accomplish,” the NFL legend said at the time. “He obviously appeals to a lot of people, and he’s a hell of a lot of fun to play golf with.”
That said, the now-48-year-old revealed that he and the president’s relationship had dissolved from where it once was. Speaking to Variety in 2022, the star explained that he cut contact with Trump in the years after the “MAGA” hat was spotted in his locker.
“No, I haven’t talked to him in a lot of years,” Brady said in an interview to the outlet in 2022.
As for the public’s perception of Brady’s relationship with Trump over the years, the former said: “I think they just mischaracterized a lot. And my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws.
“I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws. There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don’t. There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don’t. I love her to death, but we don’t always see eye to eye.
“I don’t see eye to eye with anyone. And I’m not responsible for what other people say. I’m really responsible for what I say. So if people want to say things that I said or that I’m about, that’s up to them, and I’m not going to respond to all those things all the time either.”
