Dodgers Top Rays as Miguel Rojas Delivers Off the Bench

A seventh-inning home run by Miguel Rojas proved to be the difference as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 Monday night.

Rojas, coming off the bench for Alex Freeland, blasted a 380-foot solo homer to left-center field, breaking a 3-3 tie and giving the Dodgers a lead they wouldn’t give up.

It was his only at-bat of the night, though he also made a slick defensive play at second base.

Rojas was joined in going yard by Kyle Tucker, who hit a three-run homer in the second inning to tie up what had been a 3-0 Rays lead.

Tucker finished the night 2-for-4, and he also had a great defensive play, throwing out a runner at the plate the inning after his homer.

After the game, Tucker addressed the heightened scrutiny he’s faced as he’s slumped this season despite having the biggest annual salary in baseball.

“I don’t take it like that, I just go out and play regardless,” he said, as reported by Dodgers Nation’s Noel Sanchez. “No matter where I’m at or what I’m doing, I just go out there and try and play well.”
