Real Madrid are continuing to reshape their squad under new manager Jose Mourinho, and Raul Asencio has emerged as one of the players whose future is uncertain.
With four summer signings already completed and more reinforcements expected, Los Blancos need to create space in the squad. According to Miguel Serrano, the club are now considering a loan move for Asencio that would include a mandatory purchase option.
Real Madrid initially wanted a permanent sale, but the lack of concrete offers has forced the club to explore alternative solutions. A loan with a guaranteed transfer at the end of the season could allow them to secure an exit while avoiding losing value on the defender.

However, the main issue is Asencio himself. The 23-year-old does not want to leave the Santiago Bernabeu and is determined to convince Mourinho during pre-season.
The academy graduate has a contract until 2031 and recently received improved terms after breaking into the first team. He believes he can still earn a place in Mourinho’s plans.
Despite his attitude, competition in defence has increased significantly. Real Madrid have renewed Antonio Rudiger, added Ibrahima Konate, and continue to count on Dean Huijsen and Eder Militao.
For now, Asencio’s future remains open, but Madrid are looking at every option to balance the squad before the new season.
