The Bills quarterback Josh Allen walks into, arguably, his most scrutinized season yet amid a coaching change.
The pressure intensifies for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2026 NFL Season. Now Buffalo is rolling the dice by turning to former offensive coordinator Joe Brady as head coach. Left tackle Dion Dawkins dropped a truth bomb Thursday regarding what Allen needs to do to win his first Super Bowl.
Dawkins opted to avoid adding additional pressure on his quarterback during his appearance on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.
“I don’t add any more extra pressure to that kid that he already has,” Dawkins said in his interview. “Josh understands what he’s doing, what he’s not doing. He understands what the mindset is and what we all expect. Just like we know what Josh expects from us, as well, to help him get there.”
The blindside protector adds that Allen can only be himself, not change for others despite the scrutiny.
“When it comes down to it, Josh is Josh, and he’s gonna be Josh. He’s No. 1 for a reason, so I don’t think that we need any more expectations than we already have,” Dawkins said.
Dawkins, though, described Brady’s situation with a movie analogy.
“Now we’ve got a new guy that’s holding that torch, and we all just have to say, ‘Ahoo, ahoo,’ just like the 300 soldiers, right?” Dawkins said.
Allen enters with newer hype especially after replacing Patrick Mahomes as the NFL’s top quarterback by ESPN. But 2026 feels like his most scrutinized season yet.
