In an updated report of league rules sent to all 32 teams, the NFL compared the act to that of the “simulation” of firing a gun.

“Any violent gesture, which shall include but not be limited to a throat slash, simulation firing or brandishing a gun, or using the ‘nose wipe’ gesture, or any act that is sexually suggestive or offensive,” the rules stated.

Players who perform the celebration gesture will be issued a 15-yard penalty onward.

Pro Football Talk also added that “the nose wipe is a gang sign associated with the Bloods, indicating someone is untrustworthy.”

Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb has popularized the “nose wipe” after picking up first downs and scoring touchdowns.

Lamb responded to ESPN analyst Benjamin Solak, who posted the excerpt from the rule changes, on X Wednesday.

“smh, i have plenty in mind,” Lamb said.

Despite Lamb hitting 1,000 receiving yards last season (1,194), the Cowboys struggled as injuries took a toll, leading to a 7-10 finish and a missed playoff berth.

Over 81 career games with Dallas, Lamb has recorded 6,339 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns, along with 388 rushing yards and three scores.

A first-round pick in 2020, the star wide receiver has showcased the move throughout his five seasons with the team.

At 25, Lamb is heading into the second season of the four-year, $136 million extension he signed last August.
