Real Madrid Identify Final Signing of Summer 2025
According to Spanish media, midfielder Franco Mastantuono will be the final player Real Madrid sign in the 2025 summer transfer window. This means that new head coach Xabi Alonso’s intention to reinforce the midfield will have to wait until another time.

Mastantuono is set to sign with Real Madrid on August 14, when he turns 18.
So far in the summer 2025 transfer window, Real Madrid have signed Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Following these three high-quality defenders, the Spanish giants will unveil their next signing: Franco Mastantuono.
Last weekend, Mastantuono flew from Buenos Aires to Madrid to undergo a medical and officially sign a six-year contract with Real Madrid from River Plate. The transfer fee for the 17-year-old Argentine midfielder is €45 million.

According to AS, Mastantuono will be the last signing for Real Madrid this summer. Specifically, a source from the Bernabéu revealed that the club’s management has decided not to sign any more players before the 2025/26 season begins.
Is Mastantuono enough to strengthen Real Madrid’s midfield?
This means the plan to sign another midfielder following the departure of veteran Luka Modric will not go ahead. Only during the 2026 winter transfer window will Real’s board consider additional reinforcements, if deemed necessary.
In addition to ending their transfer activity, Real Madrid are also considering keeping forward Rodrygo. According to AS, the Brazilian striker wants to stay, fight for his place, and prove himself under Xabi Alonso.
This summer, Rodrygo has been a transfer target for Arsenal, Tottenham, and most recently, Liverpool. However, Arsenal have dropped out of the race due to being unable to meet Real’s €100 million asking price.
Meanwhile, Rodrygo is not interested in joining Tottenham. As for Liverpool, they are still prioritizing the signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle over making a move for Rodrygo.
