Cute Solution-A hungry raccoon instead of finding something to eat fell asleep outside a family’s house

“We both thought it was adorable.”

Last month, when a masked stranger suddenly appeared on a family’s balcony in Canada, they decided not to ask too many questions. It was a clear from the start that he meant no harm — and he likely didn’t have the energy to muster up too much mischief.

“[Our cat] could smell him through the open window, which alerted my partner, who looked out the window and saw him lying there,” Reddit user CT-96 told The Dodo.

It was a raccoon who, from the looks of it, had had a very long night.

Rather than shoo away the uninvited guest, disrupting his slumber, the family decided to leave him be. After all, it was quite apparent that he needed some rest.

“We both thought it was adorable,” CT-96 said.

At some later point, the raccoon roused from sleep and continued on his way to do raccoon things. But he wouldn’t be gone for long.

“He stayed that afternoon and came back to sleep again the next day,” CT-96 said.

The couple named him Chubs.

To make Chubs’ stay a bit more pleasant, CT-96 set out some water and a pillow.

The raccoon had clearly chosen the right balcony to make his crash pad.

Though the family would have been happy to have Chubs stay at their place even longer, he apparently moved on to a new locale.

Having Chubs around, even if just to crash, was something unforgettable, CT-96 said:

“We already liked raccoons and thought they were cute, but we definitely like them more after this.”
