CHIEFS BLOW Kansas City Chiefs dealt devastating injury blow as key NFL Draft pick is ruled out for season with torn ACL. This moment when Patrick Mahomes helped rookie Omarr Norman-Lott off the field isn’t talked about enough.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury during the third quarter of the 31-0 win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

It happened as Norman-Lott fell to the ground while chasing Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty, with left tackle Stone Forsythe driving his weight onto him.

He immediately received medical treatment before limping off the field with the help of Patrick Mahomes and Nohl Williams.

It has now been revealed that he sustained a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season as a result.

Norman-Lott has made five appearances for the Chiefs this season, with 73 defensive snaps played.

He also recorded one sack and five tackles.

The rookie was picked by the Chiefs in the second round of the NFL draft earlier this year.

He turned pro after spending two seasons at the University of Tennessee and three at Arizona State University.

Reports had suggested that head coach Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo had planned to increase Norman-Lott’s snap count and playing time before his season-ending injury.

There was also a strong belief that he could bolster the pass rush alongside defensive tackle Chris Jones and defensive end George Karlaftis.

However, he will now have to wait until the 2026 season to make his mark.

The Chiefs went on to beat the Raiders in dominant style, not conceding a single point.

After the game, tight end Travis Kelce said: “I think it’s just a glimpse of what you’re going to see from here on out.

“We’re gonna get even more and more in-sync with having everybody, like I said, having the full game and full arsenal.

“As long as we all keep playing unselfish and getting excited for each other, the sky’s the limit for this group, baby.”
