Real Outraged by Yamal’s Explosive Comments Ahead of El Clásico
Spain — Real Madrid players are reportedly furious over provocative remarks made by Barcelona star Lamine Yamal just days before their La Liga Matchday 10 showdown at the Santiago Bernabéu.
In a controversial interview with streamer Ibai Llanos, Yamal revisited his goal in Barça’s 4-0 victory at the Bernabéu during the 2024–25 season. When asked about the ongoing accusations between Real Madrid and Barcelona regarding referee favoritism, the 18-year-old midfielder declared:

“Real steal and then cry about it. They do things I just can’t understand.”
According to Marca, Yamal’s words sparked anger and frustration inside the Real Madrid camp. Several players reportedly view the young star as an unprofessional colleague whose off-field behavior is testing their patience.
Real players are baffled by Yamal’s decision to make such inflammatory comments right before a high-tension El Clásico. Many also pointed out the irony of his statement, especially given the ongoing Negreira scandal — where Barça allegedly made illegal payments to former Spanish Referees Committee vice president José María Enríquez Negreira.
Yamal’s remarks have only fueled Real’s locker-room motivation as they prepare for redemption after losing all four El Clásico clashes last season. While not surprised by his attitude, Madrid players believe he has violated an “unspoken code” of mutual respect among professionals.

Sources say this is not Yamal’s first instance of disrespectful behavior, but his latest words have stirred significant chatter at Valdebebas training ground on October 24. The squad now views the controversy as extra “motivation fuel” ahead of this weekend’s showdown.
Spanish media have also erupted over the comments. Veteran journalist Roberto Gómez of Radio MARCA blasted Yamal, calling his statement “serious enough for the Anti-Violence Committee to intervene.”
“What Yamal said is extremely grave,” Gómez stressed. “This will have consequences — for him first, and then for his teammates. At such a sensitive moment before El Clásico, Barça should step in, either publicly or privately. You can’t just ignore it.”
He added that Yamal’s phrase “Real steal and then cry” could permanently damage his image among Real Madrid fans: “They once applauded him at the Bernabéu, but they won’t forget this. Using the word ‘steal’ crosses the line.”
Inside Barcelona, club executives are reportedly growing concerned about Yamal’s personality and the influences surrounding him. Despite being only 18, he is already the team’s biggest star — both commercially and symbolically — but his outspoken nature and lavish lifestyle posts have made management uneasy.

Sources told Mundo Deportivo that Barça and agent Jorge Mendes are keeping a close eye on him to prevent any potential controversies:
“Yamal is a global face of Barça and one of the club’s highest-paid players, but he’s still very young and easily influenced.”
Even so, both head coach Hansi Flick and captain Ronald Araújo have defended him.
Araújo stated: “He’s incredibly professional, trains hard, and gives everything in every match. Off-field noise doesn’t matter — what counts is his daily commitment.”
Flick added: “What he does on his days off is his private life. When he’s here, he’s fully focused and gives 100%.”
