Responding to a distress call, rescuers discovered the animals confined amid hazardous filth inside and around a single-family home, enduring feces-laden floors, ammonia-filled air, and neglect-induced ailments. Tragically, the remains of at least 10 deceased dogs were also found on the premises.
Tim Woodward, ARC Executive Director, emphasized the urgency of the situation, underscoring the imperative to swiftly address the peril faced by these animals.
Jessica Cocke, co-founder of Waggin’ Tails, expressed gratitude for the cooperation extended by local authorities and rescue partners amid the dire circumstances, highlighting the collaborative efforts aimed at providing immediate aid.
Dubbed “Operation Home Alone,” this rescue marks ARC’s fourth intervention this month, following relief operations in Louisiana and addressing neglect cases in Tennessee.
Currently under ARC’s care in Lebanon, Tennessee, the rescued dogs are undergoing comprehensive veterinary assessments and medical treatments. The organization is actively seeking donations to support the ongoing care of these animals.
For those interested in fostering or adopting, ARC will provide updates on shelter and rescue placements via their Facebook page once the dogs are transferred to partner organizations, fostering hope for a brighter future for these resilient survivors.
