A ‘drunk’ bear was found slumped in a forest and given a lift to the vet after gorging on hallucinogenic ‘mad honey’ in Turkey.

The bear, identified as a female, was discovered in a disoriented state, gasping for breath. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that she was suffering from the effects of consuming “mad honey,” a type of honey produced by bees that feed on the nectar of rhododendrons. This honey contains grayanotoxins, which have psychoactive and neurotoxic properties, leading to the bear’s intoxicated state.
She was brought to a vet for treatment and will be released into the wild in the coming days, according to local authorities, and is in good condition.
