Cowboys Head Coach Slams Officials for Missing Critical Pass Interference on Final Play vs. Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys left Lincoln Financial Field frustrated after a 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but head coach Brian Schottenheimer made it clear where his anger was directed: the officiating crew.
Speaking to reporters in his postgame press conference, Schottenheimer blasted the officials for failing to throw a flag on what he described as an “obvious pass interference” against star wideout CeeDee Lamb on the Cowboys’ final offensive snap.

“The defender grabbed his jersey — it’s right there on film,” Schottenheimer said. “By rule, that’s pass interference. If the flag comes out, we’re still alive with a chance to win. Instead, the game ends on a missed call.”
Replays showed an Eagles safety appearing to clutch Lamb’s uniform as the receiver tried to break free downfield. Cowboys fans erupted on social media, sharing screenshots and slow-motion clips that seemed to support Schottenheimer’s claim.
The missed call capped a tense night already filled with controversy, as Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected early for spitting on Dak Prescott. For Dallas, the ending only deepened the frustration of a narrow divisional loss.
League officials have not commented on the play, though the NFL typically reviews all officiating decisions as part of its standard postgame evaluation process.

Still, Schottenheimer’s comments put pressure on the league to address accountability. “We ask players to be accountable every week,” he said. “It’s only fair to expect the same from officiating in a game of this magnitude.”
The Cowboys now turn their attention to Week 2, but the sting of a potential missed call in Philadelphia is certain to linger.
