HOT Rookie:Jimmy Butler Calls Out Miami Heat Ahead of 2025-26 Regular Season Debut for Golden State Warriors

Jimmy Butler Calls Out Miami Heat Ahead of 2025-26 Regular Season Debut for Golden State Warriors

Jimmy Butler is set to make his 2025-26 regular season debut for the Golden State Warriors.

Jimmy Butler was traded to the Golden State Warriors in a mid-season trade during the 2024-25 season, and honestly, the NBA has gotten used to it. The fraternity, franchises and fans have moved on and now Butler is set to make his 2025-26 season debut with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, October 21. However, it seems that the six-time All-Star is still not over his former team, and his latest remark is a testament to it.

Butler recently called out the Miami Heat, a team he spent over five seasons of his career at. The 36-year-old said that he is glad that everything went down the way he did with the Heat as he is now with a team that doesn’t have any hidden agendas. Though Butler didn’t name any names, it was clear who he was pointing towards.

“All that noise, all that chaos paid off in a major way,” Jimmy Butler said. “I’m lucky to be part of this phenomenal organization. Everywhere starts off great, but then you know someone has to be the bad guy, and it gets to be me. I’m always the one doing something unbearable all of a sudden.”

“But that’s OK. I get to play in this wonderful league, with amazing teammates. But being here, they’ve only got one goal. To keep hanging those things up on the wall. Ain’t no hidden agendas.”

Notably, Butler was traded to the Miami Heat via a sign and trade with the Philadelphia 76ers in a four-team trade. After spending five and a half seasons with the Heat, Butler had a chaotic fall out with the franchise, and he publicly made a trade request back in January. He was ultimately moved to the Golden State Warriors at February’s deadline, and had an ugly exit from the Florida-based franchise.

Golden State Warriors Upgrade Jimmy Butler Status to Probable in Season Opener

The Golden State Warriors shared an update on Jimmy Butler’s injury and upgraded his status to ‘probable’ in Tuesday’s season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. Butler suffered an ankle sprain that forced him to miss the final three preseason games. He last appeared in the Warriors’ 129-123 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on October 8. In that game, Butler put up 12 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds, while shooting 50% shooting from the field.

While the Warriors coach Steve Kerr initially believed that Butler would recover quickly, the swelling progressed. Luckily, Butler seemingly made strides on Sunday, and the Warriors upgraded his status for the Tuesday-night’s opener to probable from questionable. The latest development comes as a relief for the Dubs fans. While the team has depth in their team with Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton, the entire team still revolves around Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

Butler averaged 17.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 47.6% from the field and 27.9% from beyond the arc in 30 games for the Dubs in the 2024-25 season. He is expected to have the same impact for the seven-time champions in the 2025-26 season.
