For Quintayvious Hutchins, draft night became more than a career milestone, because it connected years of work to his late mother.

According to reports, the Patriots selected Hutchins in the seventh round, No. 247 overall, after his five-year Boston College career.

“I wish my mom could see this. I just kept working, kept going every day… and now I’m here with the Patriots. That means everything to me.”

At Boston College, Hutchins played 43 games, recording 72 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one interception, and two fumble recoveries.
