After only just returning to the Spanish capital after the international window, Real Madrid make the trip to Mallorca for a must-win La Liga bout on Saturday night.

With only nine league games left in 2025–26, every match is a final for a Los Blancos side desperate to catch up to Barcelona in the La Liga standings. Still four points back, Álvaro Arbeloa’s men cannot afford any more slip ups, or else they risk losing out on another major trophy to the Catalans.

Unlike their bitter rivals, who have to face Atlético Madrid in their first game back, Real Madrid have a much easier opponent in front of them: Mallorca. Martín Demichelis’s side sits in 18th place, currently eyeing relegation with only 28 points from 29 matches.

The 15-time European champions might be tempted to look ahead to the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich midweek, but they must first handle business in Mallorca, something they failed to do in two of their last three trips to Son Moix.

Mallorca might have given Real Madrid a fight earlier in the season, but they were playing a very different team in white. The 15-time European champions are reborn under Arbeloa, playing the type of soccer that suddenly has them dreaming of silverware again.

The return of Mbappé only makes the team more dangerous, especially going against an opponent that has kept zero clean sheets in 2026. Jude Bellingham’s availability, whether from the start or off the bench, adds another goalscoring threat the hosts must deal with.

Demichelis’s men have what it takes to catch Los Blancos out and even find the back of the net, but in the end, they will be simply outmatched by an in-form Real Madrid eager to extend their winning streak to six matches.
