The Kansas City Chiefs tight end dropped the exclusive scoop on Tuesday. JANA Partners acquired a 9% stake in Six Flags Entertainment. Travis Kelce is part of the investor crew. The play cost roughly $200 million, and surprisingly, shares jumped 18% within hours.

For the unversed, he grew up in northeast Ohio hitting Cedar Point every summer. The nostalgia hits him differently now that he’s an owner trying to revive the struggling park chain.
Travis Kelce Invests in Six Flags Out of Childhood Nostalgia
Kelce posted childhood footage from Cedar Point on Instagram. Old clips of him running through Sandusky as a kid are the real deal here. Cedar Point merged with Six Flags back in July 2024. That $8 billion deal brought his childhood spot under the Six Flags umbrella.
He wrote on Instagram, “To all my fellow theme park and amusement park lovers. I have some exciting news!!! Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to continue the tradition and make Cedar Point and Six Flags… crazy to even imagine this is real, but you gotta love it when life comes full circle.”
The first slide caption read, “So many memories from this place. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to continue the tradition and make it even more special for the next generation of families!”
Six Flags suffered a $319.4 million loss in Q2 2025, unfortunately. Attendance dropped 9% in the first half due to bad weather, broken rides, and competition eating their lunch. The investor group wants to shake up management and boost the guest experience.
Consumer exec Glenn Murphy and tech boss Dave Habiger joined the investment team. They are heavy hitters looking to flip the script. Kelce brings star power and genuine passion for the product.
The timing works. He’s building an empire off the field while catching passes for Kansas City. That $100 million podcast deal with Jason, Alpine F1 investment, clothing collaborations, and now theme parks.
NFL Fans React to His Off-Field Move
Thankfully, Kelce’s Six Flags move gets appreciation from the fanbase, unlike his new restaurant.
“Kelce Coaster coming soon” was the first reaction sent by the New Heights podcast account. That opened the floodgates as Swifties saw an opening and took their shot without any second thought.
“Be honest, is this just step 1 of a multi step plan to make a ‘Taylorwood’ theme park? 🤔” one fan wrote.
However, they’re not wrong to wonder. Another fan joked, “Can we get a ride called ‘Cruel Summer’?”
“We need a Taylor Swift ride, Travis can u make this possible,” a third asked. Following that play, another demanded, “Can we get a Taylor swift ride.”
One commenter went full Ohio pride, penning, “All new coasters made from the finest REDWOOD 😏.” This was a clear nod to Swift’s track “Wood” from her latest album.
“You are doing EXACTLY what I would do if I were rich and famous! Ohio thanks you!!!!” a sixth noted.
The seventh claimed, “Grew up going to Cedar Point! Love when famous ppl did the same things I did 😭”
“You’re doing exactly what I would do if I were rich and famous!” one wrote. “Just when I think I couldn’t love you more😂😂,” another added.
Kelce hasn’t addressed the Taylor ride requests yet, but given how he promotes everything she does, don’t count it out. Six Flags needed wins. Kelce brings attention, and Swift brings millions of potential guests. If they play it right, the math checks out.
