José Mourinho is indeed set to become Real Madrid’s next manager.

Fabrizio Romano reported this Monday morning that everything has been finalized between the Madrid club and the Portuguese coach. Mourinho is set to make his big return to Real Madrid and sign a two-year contract there!

This information was then confirmed by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Reported by the Spanish media last week as being very close to the club, José Mourinho is now, almost officially, Real Madrid’s new manager.

The Portuguese will sign a two-season contract and will travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s final league match.

The Special One will return to the Santiago Bernabéu. José Mourinho will get a second chance in charge of the Real Madrid bench, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed with his now-classic “Here We Go.”

Apparently, all terms have been verbally agreed between the club and the Portuguese coach, pending everything being signed.

The initial plan would be a two-year contract, with Mourinho traveling to Madrid after the match between Los Blancos and Athletic, which brings the season to a close.

As was expected, Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho have reached a full agreement to finalise the latter’s return to the club at the end of the season.

This update comes from Fabrizio Romano, who has given the deal his trademark ‘Here we go’ seal of approval.

Two-year contract for Jose

As per the Italian transfer expert, Mourinho will be signing an initial two-year contract with Real Madrid and will be travelling to the Spanish capital to sign the documents.

The idea is for the signing and the announcement to take place after Los Blancos’ final game of the season against Athletic Club on May 24.

The 63-year-old tactician was always keen on a move back to the Santiago Bernabeu the moment it became clear that the club were looking for a new head coach.

The ‘Special One’ is excited to take over the reins at the club and help out the team going through a difficult phase and the deal will be finalised in the coming days.

Homecoming for Mourinho

This will be Mourinho’s second stint at Real Madrid, with the Portuguese manager having been in charge of the team for three years between 2010 and 2013.

During that stint, Mourinho won three domestic trophies with Real Madrid – one each of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.

The Portuguese also managed a dressing room filled with superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas, Mesut Ozil, and Angel Di Maria.

Now, he will be aiming to set things right inside what appears to be a fractured dressing room and get Real Madrid back on track and winning major trophies after two consecutive seasons without one.
