We remember the unusual case of a leopard lying in the nest of a hamerkop, cleaning itself. The yellow-black predator among the yellow-black birds in a huge bird nest. We had never seen anything so special. But that the act of mating occurred a little later, because the leopard was not alone in the tree, made the situation even more special. One of the rarely observed leopard pairings and then in such an extraordinary place. Unbelievable what the Maasai Mara has to offer.

Amazing photography by Ravi Perera:
Leopard Honeymoon: Waiting a few hours patiently in our prime photography position in the wilds of Kenya, rewards us with some once-in-a-lifetime photographs of leopards mating on top of a tree. We could not believe our eyes when after a couple of hours, the female got into position and invited the male, not once, not twice, but three times. A few lucky people have seen leopards mating on the ground, but to see them gracefully perform on an abandoned Hamerkop bird nest on top of a tree, was an amazing treat.
