Endrick’s Anger Over Being Benched Against Getafe
According to journalist Javi Herraez on Carrusel Deportivo (Cadena SER, Spain), Endrick couldn’t hide his anger when he was withdrawn from the substitution list at the last moment:
“Endrick was furious! He was about to come on, but in the end, Xabi Alonso chose Brahim Diaz instead. He kicked a water bottle in frustration on the sidelines.”
The 19-year-old had been warming up for nearly 20 minutes, expecting to play — only to return to the bench disappointed.
Journalist Anton Meana, also present on the show, added:
“Interestingly, Alonso initially planned to sub out Brahim Diaz, but after seeing Endrick’s reaction, he decided to bring on Gonzalo Garcia instead.”
This reaction reportedly came from built-up frustration. Endrick has yet to make a single appearance for Real Madrid under coach Xabi Alonso, raising concerns about his situation. As a former player himself, Alonso is said to understand the young forward’s mindset — a mix of impatience and eagerness to prove himself.
After the match, Endrick reportedly apologized to his teammates in the locker room for his outburst. The club did not treat the incident as serious, viewing it as a natural reaction from a passionate young player desperate for minutes on the pitch.
Real Madrid Still Believe in Endrick’s Potential
The club’s management continues to place great faith in Endrick’s long-term potential, believing he has the special qualities needed to make a difference in the future. However, for now, he faces tough competition from Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid’s current star striker, while young forward Gonzalo Garcia seems to be getting more playing time in Alonso’s rotation.
Endrick Could Leave Real Madrid in January
During the summer transfer window, Endrick had opportunities to leave on loan but chose to stay and fight for his place. Some within the club reportedly advised him to go elsewhere to gain experience, yet he insisted on staying at the Bernabéu with dreams of shining in the famous white shirt.
However, after months without playing time, the situation has shifted. Endrick may now realize that regular first-team football elsewhere could better aid his development before returning to Madrid more mature — a path successfully taken by players like Dani Carvajal (who went to Bayer Leverkusen) and Nico Paz (currently at Como in Serie A).
According to Rodra (ESPN), Marseille have already contacted Endrick’s representatives and expressed serious interest. The French club — competing in the Champions League and known for their attacking football — could be an ideal environment for the 19-year-old to thrive, much like the performance they showcased against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu in the group-stage opener.
Still, Endrick’s future largely depends on how Xabi Alonso manages the squad in the coming weeks. Although the Spanish coach has publicly stated that “Endrick is ready,” his actions suggest otherwise. With two major matches ahead — against Juventus and Barcelona — Endrick’s chances of finally stepping onto the field remain uncertain.
