Dodgers Trounce Blue Jays in 1st Game of World Series Rematch

The Los Angeles Dodgers braved some boos and dominated the Toronto Blue Jays 14-2 Monday night.

Hit after hit, the Dodgers didn’t let up on the Jays, whose plan to take emotion out of this World Series rematch seemed to backfire.

The Dodgers, embracing their role as the villains who took a championship from the fans at Rogers Centre, had 17 hits, including five home runs.

Justin Wrobleski, facing these fans again after the Game 7 brawl during the World Series, pitched five innings of one-run ball, allowing two hits and four walks against two strikeouts.

The game got so out of hand, in fact, that the Dodgers brought in infielder Miguel Rojas to pitch the ninth inning.

Rojas gave up a run, a hit and a walk in what will likely be a crushing blow to his Cy Young candidacy.

What’s Next for the Dodgers?

The Dodgers (8-2) and Blue Jays (4-6) face off again Tuesday evening in Toronto.

First pitch for that game is set for 4:07 p.m.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the mound for the Dodgers, while Kevin Gausman will pitch for the Jays.
