Vinicius Removes Real Madrid Information From His Social Media Profiles
25-year-old star Vinicius Junior has removed the phrase “Real Madrid player” from the bio section of his personal social media pages, amid rumors that he has agreed to extend his contract with the club.
On November 22, Spanish media simultaneously reported that Vinicius had reached an agreement to renew his contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2031. His previous deal was set to expire in 2027, but negotiations for an extension had repeatedly run into difficulties.
Just as the talks seemed to be finalized, Vinicius made a surprising move by deleting the phrase “Real Madrid player” from his bio on both X and Instagram. He still keeps profile photos related to the club, but the removal suggests there may once again be disagreements between the two sides.
Spanish media have not provided a reason for Vinicius’ reaction.
The Brazilian star is considered one of Real’s most valuable assets. The club’s management has complete confidence in the 25-year-old’s contributions but still upholds the principle that “the club is above everything.” This policy has been maintained for many years and continues to apply throughout the nearly nine-month negotiation process. Vinicius’ camp understands this and has accepted the limits set by Real Madrid.
According to Diario AS, the tensions surrounding the Brazilian’s future have eased recently thanks to better mutual understanding. The international break, along with support from coach Carlo Ancelotti, helped Vinicius regain mental stability after a sensitive period. A previous incident—when he was substituted during El Clásico—had caused internal tension, but he and coach Xabi Alonso spoke directly to clear up their views. Real appreciated how quickly the two resolved the issue, restoring a positive atmosphere in the squad.
Sources say that disputes that emerged after the FIFA Club World Cup have also been nearly settled. Vinicius understands his role at the Bernabéu and knows that emotional outbursts cannot jeopardize his long-term career.
Real always avoids letting key players enter the final year of their contract without an extension, and Vinicius is no exception. The club risks losing him for free, while they could earn more than $100 million by selling him as early as January 2026.
