Here is your warning – watching the live stream of Blue Springs’ nesting Bald Eagle pair can become addictive.

Two eaglets have now emerged.

Blue Springs bald eagles have laid a third egg, live cam shows

“You can see sports (at) just about any restaurant or bar and we like to have something a little bit different on the TV,” Shelby Russell, Owner of The Pizza Place in Blue Springs said Monday. “You think it’d be boring to watch a live stream of an eagle, but it’s actually really cool to see what they do.”

The location of the Eagle Cam isn’t made public, but you can get a good view within a table at The Pizza Place off Highway 7.

“There’s too much going on in the world, let’s have some fun and watch nature,” Russell added. “When we found out that they actually laid eggs and had some babies, we had to put it on full time.”

Supporting local also means supporting local nests.

This lifecycle is also something at least one local class in Grain Valley is paying attention to.

“It ties in with our math and science,” Felicity, a 5th grader at Prairie Branch Elementary said. “Because of the food web and the geometry.”

Another classmate, Nadia, said her class has learned a lot about the eagle pair.

“Like what they eat, how they feed their babies, and all of that,” she said. “…their mom would make an inner nest to keep them extra safe.”

Mrs. Lewis even threw the parents ‘Liberty’ and ‘Freedom’ a baby shower Monday.

It’s Missouri’s only live bald eagle camera.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says, “in the wild, bald eagles typically live for 15 to 30 years; in captivity, they can live more than 40 years.”

The age of the pair is unknown, but the Missouri Department of Conservation tells FOX4 the two have been at this particular site since 2023 and have successfully raised young there before.
