Algeria currently leads Group G of the African World Cup qualifiers with a 4-point lead over Uganda. If they win the next match, they will officially qualify for the biggest World Cup on the planet in the summer of 2026.

Luca is likely to become Algeria’s number one goalkeeper. During the qualifying round, coach Vladimir Petkovic alternated between Anthony Mandrea (playing in the French third division) and Alexis Guendouz (playing in the domestic league). Compared to these two names, Luca’s experience and class can help him take the official position.
